The Portage High School girls’ soccer team is selling bracelets to raise money for Hayleigh and Ethan Manville after the passing of their mother, beloved PHS secretary, Brandy Manville, back in November of 2024. Bracelets can be purchased for $5 in the athletic office, during lunches, and at all girls’ soccer home games. All proceeds will go to medical and everyday expenses and anything Hayleigh and Ethan need as they navigate this loss.
When Hannah Niebel, 11, took charge of the fundraiser, she knew it would have a positive impact on the school overall by honoring Brandy’s life and her love for her children.
“We wanted to be able to sell something that people could hold on to the memory of Brandy,” Niebel said. “Seeing the pink and green bracelets in the hallways and in the classrooms is a small way to keep Brandy’s presence in the day to day life at Portage High School.”
The girls’ soccer coach, Hana Satka, explained how there was no second thought when it came to helping Hayleigh, a former Varsity soccer player at PHS, and her brother, Ethan.
“To be able to help in any way shape or form, was a no brainer,” Satka said. “We want them to know that hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed, and we truly are a soccer family.”
